Autumn updates from Duffryn

Things in Duffryn have been continuing to progress over the summer months.

Here’s an update of how everything is going:

Music Club

With help from Abbie and Sarah, the Music Club in Duffryn Junior School, has been going really well with around 25 children coming each week. We also had the chance to do some RE lessons in Duffryn High School using the GSUS Live trailer in partnership with King’s Church.

Mum’s Group

Amy is involved in leading a breastfeeding support group for new mums, which is also continuing to grow with really good relationships beginning to form between the mums.

Detached Youth Work

We’ve had a go at beginning some detached youth work but because of disruptions with weather and moving house we haven’t fully managed to get into the swing of this yet.

Tredegar House

James has been invited to join a steering group for the community involvement work that the National Trust is doing at Tredegar House, with the possibility of partnering with them in some future projects.

Please pray for Duffryn:

  • For James, Amy and Evie as they move house (again), that they’ll settle quickly into their new home.
  • For the group of mums, that this little community would continue to flourish, and for the grant application we put in over the summer which will help to cover the cost of hiring the room for this group.
  • For the right conditions to be able to get into a routine with the detached youth work.
