100 Balloons vs 1 Laser

At first you look at this video and maybe wonder: Why?

But the answer is also somewhat obvious: Because he had a laser.

This works because the laser focuses all the power of the lights electrons into a beam strong enough to pop the black balloons, which absorb the energy instead of scattering it like a lighter colored balloon would, causing it to burst. If it didn’t focus all of its energy than this wouldn’t work at all.

In Colossians 3:2, the Apostle Paul tells us “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” In other words, focus all of your attention on important, Kingdom-minded things. And what’s the impact? Paul answers that in verse 17, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

3 Questions:

  • If you had a laser that could blow things up, what would you blow up first?
  • Would your friends describe you as focused or lacking focus?
  • Would you describe your relationship with God as focused or lacking focus?

Chew on this:

If lasers focus their energy for good/evil what does that say about my ability to stay focused?

PS: Yes, you can buy the laser in the video.
