James Henley

Whilst serving as the Lab’s Student Pastor, James is going into his third year of a degree in Youth Work and Theology at the Centre for Youth Ministry in Bristol. James came to Newport aged 18 for his gap-year, when he discovered The Lab and realised he couldn’t leave. His passions are searching for God in unlikely places and reflecting on anything and everything that sparks his imagination.

Stephanie graduated from the University of Wales Newport in 2008, after studying Creative Sound and Music. She’s now moving into her second year with The Lab in Alway, working as The Lab’s administrator. Stephanie helps to hold together the practical side to The Lab, as well as having a real calling for pastoral support, particularly with other girls.

This year, he is working as Chaplaincy Assistant with the University, hoping to resource and empower students in their spirituality and build links between different faiths on campus. Justin & Lucy Groves

Facebook: Justin | Lucy

Justin and Lucy moved to Newport in 2005 with the mission to start up a “youth church” by the Bishop of Monmouth – which has since grown and evolved into what the Lab is today. About two years ago, Justin took over as Priest-in-Charge at St. Paul’s Church in the City Centre. Lucy and Justin bring wisdom and insight to the Lab and keep an eye on everything that goes on.

Louise Gough

Louise is the minister at Trinity Methodist Church in High Cross. She joined the Lab in September 2008, moving to Newport from Cardiff, where she worked for the Methodist church there.
